The flintknapping workshop (which has by now become mythical), closed in 2000 has re-opened in April 2008.
Bernard displays and sells his latest creations and makes live flintknapping demos all day long: an excellent occasion to learn a few tricks and to ask him about his art !
The entrance is totally free: don't leave LES EYZIES without paying it a visit...
HOW TO GET TO THE WORKSHOP
PALAIOS 's address is 45 Avenue de la Préhistoire, in Les Eyzies de Tayac (Dordogne, France).
"Black Périgord", Les Eyzies is the town of the French National Museum of Prehistory and is only a few spear throws away from the extraordinary village of Sarlat (said to be the most beautiful french village, miraculously preserved since the Middle Ages)
PALAIOS is precisely located in front of the Pataud shelter (Abri Pataud), 300 meters from the Tourist Office, protected by the humongous limestone cliffs.
This region is full of caves, shelters, museums and famous places with famous names such as: Le Moustier (Mousterian), Cro-Magnon, La Madeleine (Magdalenian)...
Oh... did we mention the cepes and chanterelles ???
