Amongst all the flint tools man has ever made, points undoubtedly have the highest number of different types and shapes.
Every period, culture, social group seems to have knapped a specific type of point.
Points can be grouped in 3 main categories:
• Piercing points (The ones displayed in this page)
• Cutting points (made with a broken blade segment)
• Compound points (made of several little flint blade segments associated)
Cutting points, though they may look less aesthetic to our modern eyes are probably the most efficient one for hunting due to the massive bleeding that they provoke.
The points displayed in this section are not hafted and though they would be quite efficient as an arrow tip, they are made for their beauty, with the most beautiful materials.
