Can I come by train ?
Yes, we can pick you up at the train station (Les Eyzies or Sarlat) and drive you back at the end of the class. Just tell us so when filling the registration form.

I come by car. Can I park easily?
Well... though Tamnies or les Eyzies may be considered as the capital cities of Prehistory, parking is much easier than in Paris, London or Washington!

What will I learn during a class ?

Can I keep the tools that I have knapped during the class ?
Of course. You can take home anything you have knapped. If some of yout tools are particularly well made, they shall be marked with a diamond drill, so they can later be identified as replicas.

When I registered, I wanted to work on bifaces. Now I have changed my mind. Is is an issue?
Not at all. You can change your mind anytime and ask us to work on any kind of flint tool, before or even during the class. Everything is proposed, nothing is enforced.

I don't know ANYTHING to flintknapping. What I should I do before going to a class ?
Nothing. it is our job to teach you the basics, inluding the tools, the vocabulary and so on. But feel free to brows this site and any page dealing with flintknapping to increase your knowledge.

I am NOT manual and almost can't use a screwdriver... Can I still go to a flintknapping class ?
As long as you know how to hold and use a hammer, you have the necessary skills for a flintknapping class ! Flint is very sharp, but we have plenty of first aid kits. Wrong aims may leave bruises on your thighs, but as Bernard Ginelli says: "this is the way you learn" !

My 8-year old son is fond od Prehistory. Can he go to a flintknapping class ?
Like previously said, flint is sharp. VERY sharp. A minimum dexterity and strength is required and due to the potential danger of cutting oneself:

My son is too young to knap flint. Can he still come with me to a class as an observer ? A friend of mine would also like to come as an observer. Is it possible ?

REGISTRATIONS, CANCELLATIONS, reFFUNDING

I have booked using the form. What should I do next ?
Your registration is only effective after a deposit of 1/3 of the total class cost is made. You will find all the details in the confirmation email that you will receive after filling the registration form. Contact us for further information.

I have waited too long to send my deposit, and now that I have done it, all seats are registered. Can I get a refund ?
Yes, you will get a FULL REFUND... Contact Bernard Ginelli: maybe you can still come to the class.. it all depends on the number of knappers and observers.

I must cancel my registration after having sent my deposit. Can I get a refund ?
Yes, you get a full refund as long as your cancellation request is made at least 30 days before the scheduled class date.

I have no choice but to face a last-minute cancellation. Can I get a refund ?
In case of last-minute cancellation, deposits are not returned, but you still can contact Bernard Ginelli to discuss this matter.

The class has been cancelled due to external factors (frogs invasion, major earthquake in Tamnies...). What will happen ?
Should the whole class be cancelled, any deposit will be returned to the students already registered.
