Bows & atlatls
These hunting weapons (and, sadly, no doubt weapons of war too) first appear 22,000 years ago for the atlatl, and 13,000 years ago for the bow. The atlatl comes in "male" or "female" forms: known as the atlatl in the Americas, the woomera in Australia.

Neolithic bows
Longbow or recurve style — stave of elm or yew, linen string and serving thread, leather grip, sinew and hide-glue reinforcement.
