Reduction sequences
A "chaîne opératoire" (operational sequence) is, in André Leroi-Gourhan's definition, "the approach that reveals the full set of steps involved in making an archaeological object." The sequences shown here make no scientific claims: they simply aim to make the object, using the same tools as people of the period.
Chalcolithic knife
The most detailed sequence: knapping, polishing, retouch, handle.
Hide glue
Making a traditional animal glue, in 14 steps.
Sinew cord
From preparing the fibers to the braided cord.
Other sequences existed on the original site (Mousterian biface, Magdalenian eyed needle, Azilian harpoon), but could not be reproduced here for lack of recoverable static text content.
